Some of the prominent festivals that are celebrated with great fanfare and enthusiasm include Women’s Day that is celebrated on April 7 and is dedicated to Mozambique women especially Josina Machel, who played a significant role in the liberation of the country;
International Workers’ Day or Labour Day, which is celebrated on May 1 large processions and rallies held in the big cities; Independence Day is another important festival in Mozambique that is celebrated on June 25 to commemorate the country’s independence.
Apart from these festivals the country also celebrates festivals like Easter, Christmas and New Year with great fanfare!
