Mali Festivals and Events

Nowhere are Malis many distinct cultures more proudly displayed than during the countrys numerous festivals. A large percentage of events take place in February, including Segous Festival on the Niger and Timbuktus Desert Festival, two of the countrys biggest celebrations. During one of Malis most unique events, all the residents of Djenné descends upon the Great Mosque to help apply fresh mud to the communitys most famous landmark.
